Baptisms, Marriages and Burials
We have transcribed the Plumtree Church Baptism, Marriage and Burial registers for the years 1558 to 1918; use the following links to display these register entries in a searchable table.
More detailed records
We are also able to provide much more detailed information based on our database of 'augmented' register record entries which are cross-indexed to other family members to provide more background information.
In particular, our burial records have been significantly expanded to include, where applicable, the associated plot number in Plumtree Churchyard, a photo of the headstone and the text of its inscription.
Also, we can perform ‘fuzzy’ matching for alternative spellings of surnames; for example, a search for “Linaker”, will also return matches for “Linacre”, “Lineaker”, “Lineakor”, “Linekar”, “Lineker” and “Linneker”, all of which appear in the registers due to historical spelling differences and transcription variations from the original handwritten entries.

1841 to 1911 Censuses
We have also computerised the 1841 to 1911 Censuses for Plumtree, Normanton-on-the-Wolds and Clipston-on-the-Wolds (Clipstone) and are gradually supplementing the entries with background information gleaned from the parish registers.
Once again, we can make this information available at very short notice; simply email us.
There is an Interactive Churchyard feature available on the Plumtree Church website which allows you to discover the location of a headstone for someone who is buried (or whose ashes are interred) in Plumtree Churchyard.
Although we have taken great care when compiling the information, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of its contents; users are advised to corroborate our information with their own research.
