The Burnside Memorial Hall offers the following facilities.

Room Capacity

The Burnside Memorial Hall is licensed to accommodate 120 people. The Main Hall is 13.5 metres long by 6.5 metres wide (width is to the pillars, not to the walls). See also Plan of Hall.

Main Hall: 85 (seated)

  • Tables (adult) - 13 Gopak-style folding tables (each seats 6 adults comfortably; can seat 8)
  • Chairs (adult) - 60 upholstered; 25 others
  • Tables (child) - 5 small Gopak-style folding tables
  • Chairs (child) - 30 small plastic seats (together these are ideal for children's parties)

The Kitchen can be used as a small meeting room for up to 15 people

Three large preparation tables





Hot water boiler

Crockery - cups, saucers and side plates; some dinner plates

There is no cutlery or glasses


Fixed stage

Performing Rights Society (PRS) entertainment licence


Safe, secure grassed area:

  • Play area for children
  • Suitable for barbecues
  • Space for a gazebo
  • External mains power socket (controlled internally)

No parking is available on-site

A car may be parked for a short time outside the main door to drop off and pick up equipment only. This area must be left clear during use of the Hall for emergency access.

On-street parking is available on Church Hill; please make sure you lock your car.
Please park on the far side of the road from the Hall and do not block the pavement.

Please be careful if you park on Church Lane (it is very narrow); do not block access to houses.

Other information

The Hall is centrally heated.

The Hall does not have a licence to sell alcohol; this can be obtained by local licensees for special events. However users can consume their own alcoholic drinks in the Hall.

Please note that, under the terms of the Premises Licence, lettings must end at 11:30 pm Monday to Saturday and at 6:00 pm on Sundays.

The Hall is professionally cleaned every week.
